F.A.Q

IF I LOWER MY CAR, DO I HAVE TO CHANGE SHOCKS?

This depends upon the individual vehicle & the amount you wish to lower the vehicle. Our trained staff can advise you on your requirement.

MY NEW LOWERING SPRINGS ARE THE SAME HEIGHT, OR TALLER, THAN MY OLD ONES. DOES THIS MEAN I'VE BOUGHT THE WRONG ONES?

Not necessarily, many King springs are progressive rate and are designed to remain captive in the standard spring seats, therefore they are the same or similar height when unloaded but will be lower when the weight of the vehicle is lowered onto them.

I FITTED LOWERING SPRINGS BUT MY VEHICLE IS STILL THE SAME HEIGHT...

Lowered spring height is calculated from the standard factory height, if your old springs have sagged or the original springs have been previously replaced you may not achieve the reduction in height you require, also worn shock lower & upper top mounts can effect ride height variations front to rear and side to side. That’s why we recommend contacting us to discuss your requirements by providing a hub to guard measurements or bring your vehicle in for inspection and measurement. This will allow our experienced staff to provide you with the correct information and suggestions to achieve the correct spring height nearly every time. (Call for more information on how to correctly measure your vehicle’s current height), (Some older vehicles may require more than one fitment).

WHAT WILL I NEED TO CARRY MORE WEIGHT WITHOUT SAGGING?

Every vehicle is different & the amount you wish to carry whether it is sometimes or all the time will mean different products in some vehicles to achieve the best outcome. Our trained staff can advise you on your requirements.

HOW DO I MEASURE RIDE HEIGHT?

Sometimes you can end up with the wrong springs if you’re not careful.
We and many other shops who sell springs use a Hub to Guard Measurment, known as a HTG.
Simply measure from the very middle of your hub, up to the lip of your guard, like so:

HTG Kings Measure

Let us know your measurement and we can work from there,
This way we end up with the right springs the first time, nearly every time.
